Short Wave Compositions is a collection of sounds recorded from many different sources. Of these sounds, short wave radio provides the greatest variety.
On Track 1 (28:29,) eighteen different short wave compositions are sequentially arranged to make up a continuous soundscape.
On Track 2 (13:07,) Sculptor/Musician Daniel Galliduani allows his musical composition "Black Mamba" to be mixed with Laurie's shortwave sounds.
On Track 3 (6:06,) Track 4 (3:24,) & Track 5 (0:40,) Performance artist Daffi Nathanson reads and ad-libs his poetry to a Laurie shortwave and sound mix backdrop. The first selection is titled "The Rules" followed by "Ten Minutes to Get Around the Corner" and ends with "Vikings and Venture Capital."
Track 6 (4:40,) and Track 7 (2:20,) musician and composer Steven Cerilli brings drum rhythms and the beat of a stalled phonograph record to bear on his own version of how short wave can be used in a mix.
Playing shortwave sounds at higher volumes will produce the best results.
